Happy Valentine’s Day! Oops!
Updated: Feb 17, 2021
I guess it is too late to wish people Happy Valentine's Day, but guess what? It‘s Random Acts of Kindness Day!
February 14th is a day for commemoration of love, friendship and togetherness. the foundation of the celebration is rooted in honor of St. Valentine, and a belief in the importance and power of love. Random Acts of Kindness is February 17th, right after Valentine’s Day. It is celebrated by individuals, groups and organizations nationwide to encourage acts of kindness. I think we need to embrace these principle now more than ever before.
Here's a thought - As we look for ways to make our country more "United" let's repeat whatever kind gesture (not necessarily a physical gift) we did on Valentine's Day or, perform one random act of kindness once a week, beginning today Make sure it is a different person each time, and and includes people of different cultures and races. Let's pay forward acts of love and kindness for the next 52 weeks to February 17th, 2022 (or try to do it everyday). Put a reminder on your phone, mirror or other prominent place where you will see it each morning as you begin your day.
Please let me know if you are with me. Let’s begin right now!!
