Iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17

“Any writer will tell you that writing is a lonely calling. Sometimes you are lost in a sea of words, on a craft of good intentions, without a compass. That’s when another craft on the horizon is a Godsend. As a writing coach, Linda Williams has proven herself to be that Godsend. She is empathetic… a published author who knows the perils; sympathetic… understanding that each journey is unique; and always, always encouraging… knowing when to push, when to listen, and when to console. In my experience, Linda used her instincts and her arsenal of information to keep me centered on my goals. I never left a session with her without feeling inspired.

…………. I was anxious to get my book published and over several years tried  unsuccessfully to make it happen. In my rush to the finish line, my coach gave me the best advice. Linda said, “Stop.” She helped me see that I was trying too hard to make something happen, and encouraged me that when the time was right, it wouldn’t be as difficult. I trusted her and she was spot-on. All the groundwork for my project had been laid, and I was ready to go, so when the time came, I had Divine confidence and peace about what I was doing when I hit “send.” My novel was published in April 2019, just before my mother died.

The whole concept of whetting two steels for a sharper edge requires the willingness and availability of two people. I would reassure writers who are willing to have their countenance sharpened to consider Linda Williams as their writing coach. I am confident it will be a worthwhile journey.”

In the Beloved Jonathan Cooke (2019)

“Working with Linda has been nothing short of amazing! When I first sought out her services, all I had was an idea that God placed on my heart. She brought organization to the confusion that I had in my head. She walked me step by step from outline, writing the book, editing, and publishing. As an author herself, she was able to help me avoid common pitfalls and mistakes that first time authors make.

What I enjoyed most about her services was her genuine interest and involvement in my work. As a coach, she constantly encouraged me and held me accountable to the goals I set for myself. Without a doubt, I couldn't have published my first book without her coaching services. If you're thinking about publishing your own book, I highly recommend Linda's services.”

“Yesss! Linda J. Williams is the best!!! She’s been my writing coach for over a year. Had it not been for her, I would probably still be stuck. She is great at what she does and holds me accountable.

(2020)

In the summer of 2020,  in the midst of the pandemic, I was asked to review the Christian Writing S.T.E.P.S. online course. Not because I’m
a writer or  journalist.   I’m an educator by vocation and I was looking for grammatical errors, the fluency of material and whether it was user
friendly. My task was to make suggestions to ensure participants would have the optimum learning experience.

As I reviewed  each lesson, I learned about the complexity of writing in such a fashion that it was palatable. I gained insight and tools that could be used in aspects of my current position. I was intrigued by the information and I would have never in my wildest dreams thought I would be writing. It was not one of my goals yet I am writing almost every day. I am experiencing a creativity that was unknown to me. Who knows where this will take me, however I can almost guarantee that if I had not reviewed this course this is a project I would not even had considered. I recommend you take the Christian Writing S.T.E.P.S. online course, whether you are a serious writer or want to write as a hobby. It is worth the investment. It might spark or enhance the inner author in you.
